Registration Info: Be Part of a Great Khutba Team

In order to register for the upcoming Khutba Training Workshop and Certified Khateeb Service, please follow these standard guidelines:


Inspiring the Ummah: Khateeb Training Workshop
January 13-15, 2012 at Why-Islam Center, NJ

BEFORE KHUTBA WORKSHOP:

1. Responsible for Required Study Material --> Khateeb's Guide, Drafting a Khutba, & Khutba Training

2. Start memorizing khutbat al-Hajja - click here
3. Write a Khutba for the workshop (3-5 pgs) example

4. If you have recordings of your khutba/talk, email us a link
5. Write a Khateeb Profile (include a picture) click here for an example and EMAIL: MYCCNJ {at} gmail to register for the program.




DURING WORKSHOP:

AFTER WORKSHOP:
Complete Certification requirements listed below:

1. Complete Khutba Training Workshop on Jan. 13-15, 2012
2. memorization of khutbat al-Hajja

3. Khutba Exam/ Submit written Khutba
4. Proper Quran Recitation (with Tajwid)
5. Present Jumua' Khutba at a local congregation  within 3 months of the training workshop (practical)

Since this is a community project, we ask that you recommend people who would be ideal candidates for this khutba training. 


For example, individuals who are serious about studying deen, focused on their education, active in dawah work, gifted speakers, and known to have best of manners.

We only want serious people who want to learn and give back to the community.

I am sure you know a few individuals with the above description. I hope and pray that you go onto inspire so many individuals like Imam Siraj, Shaykh Hamza, Shaykh Yasir Qadhi and others.

We want to have another generation of great du'at and plan for it today.

Description:

The goal of this initiative is to identify and train the next generation of khateebs to meet the demands of a dynamic and diverse Muslim community. With this workshop, individuals will better understand the art of public speaking and be able to write and deliver meaningful and relevant khutbahs to a congregation of any size, age, or ethnicity. Even if you have been giving khutba for decades, this workshop will only enhance public speaking skills.

We are trying to get beyond this urge to complain... 

InshAllah, we can collectively uplift the level of khutbas in our community by better training individuals and offering advice and suggestions to the pool of khateebs. Alhamdo lillah, we have had discussions with a few Imams, chaplains, teachers, and activists in developing this Khateeb Program. Based on public speaking model, this workshop will engage khateebs to enhance their public speaking and communication skills.
